Welcome to Fiji

With its idyllic tropical islands, coral reefs and luxury resorts – as well as a superb destination for yacht guests – Fiji has quickly established itself as the superyacht hub of the South Pacific.

Written by Matthew Stoeckel, CEO Fiji Tourism

FIJI IS SITUATED in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Known for its abundance of exotic and spectacularly scenic islands, it has a mild climate, abundant sea life, crystal-clear tropical waters and excellent sailing conditions. With incredible experiences, modern facilities, and friendly locals known for their humour and hospitality, it’s easy to see why Fiji is such a popular cruising destination.

Centuries ago, European mariners were awestruck by the skilful ability of the Fijian warriors sailing giant double-hulled war canoes. Today, Fiji is a major yachting hub in the South Pacific, offering world-class facilities and entertainment for owners and crew. In addition, the yachting infrastructure and support network makes Fiji an unmissable stop on any South Pacific journey.

Boasting an impressive array of luxury, adventure, and relaxation experiences, Fiji attracts many world-class surfers, golfers and celebrities to its tropical shores. Many of them opt to discover Fiji’s islands by seaplane or explore the archipelago at their leisure on board a private charter vessel.

A sailor could happily spend a lifetime exploring Fiji’s 330 islands and 1.29 million square kilometres of pristine ocean.

Fiji’s geographic location ensures the destination is well-positioned to leverage off the America’s Cup taking place in New Zealand in 2021. We expect yachts to take full advantage of Fiji’s proximity to New Zealand and therefore spend time before, during or after the Cup cruising the beautiful waters of Fiji.

We welcome you to explore our Pacific home and discover what truly makes Fiji the place where happiness finds you.
