Especially memorable meals can be found at acclaimed Hobart restaurants Franklin and The Glasshouse. Alternatively, watch as seafood is plucked straight from the sea and prepared for lunch in front of you on board the acclaimed Seafood Seduction boat tour.

Land the catch of the day

Tasmania’s pristine waterways offer fly-fishers some incredible spots to cast their rod. Hike through verdant rainforest to a crystal-clear stream where the trout are running, or take a more leisurely approach as you drift downriver on a raft. For the ultimate angler’s day out, choose an experienced operator such as Riverfly 1864 or Driftwater.

Bring on the bubbles

Tasmania has a global reputation for its sparkling wines, with the Tamar Valley as its epicentre. Gain insight into the region with a visit to Josef Chromy, one of the island’s most celebrated sparkling producers, on their Art of Sparkling tour. A helicopter transfer will see you land directly at the pretty-as-a-picture winery, and the tasting tour, which also includes lunch, goes behind the scenes to reveal the secrets of making great sparkling wine.

Australia’s most out-there museum

Enjoy a different take on Tasmania’s landmark museum, MONA – the Museum of Old and New Art – with the playfully named Posh As experience, which explores not just the avant-garde gallery but also the on-site vineyard and winery. The day starts with a guide-led tour through Australia’s largest private art collection, before moving on to Moorilla Estate winery, where you can taste some award-winning wines.
