Fact file: Indonesia

Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelagic state, the fourth most populous country, and the most populous Muslim-majority nation.

INDONESIA OFFERS ENDLESS CRUISING ADVENTURES across multiple regions, including 17,508 islands scattered on both sides of the equator, about 6,000 of which are inhabited.

The Lesser Sunda Islands include Bali, Lombok, Komodo, and onward to Timor. There are amazing dive sites, snorkelling and clear waters on this route. The scenery is spectacular, ranging from white sandy beaches to the three coloured lakes of the Kelimutu volcano, as well as the magnificent Komodo National Park where guests can get up close to the legendary Komodo dragon.

Bali also offers luxury hotel resorts, spas and world-class restaurants and shopping, and acts as a superyacht hub for the region.

The Raja Ampat Islands off West Papua are said to have the world’s richest reef systems and are increasingly popular as a superyacht destination.

The archipelago consists of four large islands and around 600 smaller islands, with steep mountain cliffs, dense jungle and deserted white sandy beaches.

Bunaken National Marine Park in North Sulawesi is home to a diverse marine life of coral, fish and mammals. With sheltered bays, wall dives, barrier reefs, and mangroves, this is a superb cruising ground for diving enthusiasts, while across on Borneo lies the wild Indonesian state of East Kalimantan, home of orangutans and the stunning Derawan Archipelago.
