Just 13 nautical miles from the main island of Viti Levu, Vomo encompasses two spectacular private islands. With a style of luxury that is chic, organic and genuine, this slice of heaven sprawls over 255 acres and is surrounded by three miles of white-sand beaches.
With 28 villas – from Hillside Villas to duplex-style Beachfront Villas and freestanding Beachfront Havens – the resort offers luxurious private residences for a more secluded, personal experience, including butler service.
Each of the six multi-bedroom residences has a swimming pool and beach frontage, and everything you’d expect of your multi-million-dollar beachfront pad is catered for. All have kitchens, though rental does include all meals at Vomo’s two exceptional restaurants, which offer delicious dining options and daily changing menus.
While borders have been closed for the past 16 months, a section of Vomo beachfront has been abuzz with the construction of two of the most magnificent residences yet built in the South Pacific. The five-bedroom Reef House and the four-bedroom Talei Taki will firmly place Vomo in the dominant position for the most exceptional contemporary accommodation in the Fiji Islands.
The owner–builder of the 980-square-metre Reef House remains in awe of his achievement in securing 100 metres of absolute beach frontage on a pristine tropical island to build this dream vacation home complete with 25-metre swimming pool.
Designed like a lodge with five individually keyed suites and an abundance of alfresco entertaining areas, the Reef House takes the best advantage of breeze, sun and shade. While privately owned, all residences are available in Vomo’s rental pool.
Next door, the brand-new Talei Taki is finessing its finishing touches. This extraordinarily beautiful and functional home for up to eight guests is available for three or more nights.
The Fijian name of the residence, Talei Taki, means ‘a desired place I want to return to’.
This name reflects the owners’ dedication to meticulously assembling every conceivable feature they loved from accommodations around the globe to create their dream four-bedroom beachfront residence.
At Vomo, the resort facilities are right at your doorstep – two restaurants, beach club and bars, nine-hole pitch and putt golf course, tennis, hiking, gym, personal trainer, spa and wellness facilities.
A sunrise hike to the top of Mount Vomo gives breathtaking, 360-degree views of the islands, and the resort is renowned for its sunrise breakfast here.
On the island’s western tip is the Rocks Beach Club for adult guests, featuring an infinity pool, expansive deck dotted with white cage cabanas, lounge chairs, and aqua floating chairs. The barefoot-chic ambience is carried through to the cocktail bar and adjoining restaurant.
By day, sushi and sashimi platters are delivered poolside or enjoy hawker delights from the all-day grazing menu either at your cabana or at the oceanfront restaurant, which enjoys vistas of Vomo Lailai island (Little Vomo). By night, the Rocks is a sophisticated cocktail club serving Sri Lankan, Indian and Asian fare.
By prior arrangement, yachting guests can privately hire Vomo’s restaurants or beachfront dining locations. Enjoy the best chilli crab, tomahawk steaks, Yasawa lobsters, sumptuous curry platter – in fact, whatever your heart desires.
The small island of Vomo Lailai can also be booked for private lunches for up to 12 people.
Perhaps the greatest drawcard is the Fijian people themselves. Offering a style of genuine hospitality rarely found, it’s a heady mix of warm welcome and gracious service that stays with you long after your visit.
Fijians are proud of their living culture and rich heritage, and showcase this through activities, rituals and performances that guests can enjoy during their stay as they get to know this engaging culture and her people.
With genuine Fijian hospitality, an island so incredibly pristine and a range of active pursuits to enjoy, Vomo has everything you escape to Fiji to find.
