Seal Superyachts opens in Costa Rica

Increased yachting interest in the Central American country has prompted the investment.

COSTA RICA is set to become Central America’s favourite superyacht cruising ground, spurring Seal Superyachts to open an office in the Central American country.

Seal Superyachts is a network of shore support agents stretching from the Seychelles and Mauritius in the Indian Ocean to Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands.

Alan Lucas, Maikol Barantes and Andrei Barantes are the three faces behind Seal Superyachts Costa Rica. The trio brings significant connections in national shipping and port operations as well as collective years of experience in the marine industry and local marina operations.

Seal Superyachts will cover all the Pacific coast of Costa Rica: Golfito, Quepos, Herradura, Puntarenas, Papagayo and Playas del Coco.

Adam Frost, Managing Director of Seal Superyachts headquarter in Thailand said of the announcement, “I’m delighted to have Allan, Mailkol and Andrei with us.

“This office has been a long time in the making, and the decision has been made based on their excellent reputations and service record with superyachts that have been calling to Costa Rica over the past couple of years.

“Strategically, having operations in Costa Rica now gives us better capability to handle superyachts as soon as they exit the Panama Canal.”

Maikol Barantes, one of the Principles of Seal Superyachts Costa Rica, says of the new appointment: “It’s a great opportunity for us, and I want to show our pura vida full of smiles and professionalism to all our customers. I feel like we now belong to a beautiful new family.”

Why Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is located North of the Panama Canal, and is a perfect first stop before a cruise into the Pacific Ocean, with first Cocos island, and then the Galapagos on the way. Costa Rica means ‘Rich Coast’ and is a destination that will offer a great opportunity for Superyachts to enjoy the highest hospitality in central America. It is a very natural and well-protected country that offers great surfing, amazing sport-fishing, and natural adventure spots.

Costa Rica is a unique and somewhat new destination for Superyachts wishing to get off the beaten track. It already has world-class marinas and good infrastructure only adding to the appeal for superyachts, owners, and captains

Additionally, Costa Rica has recently introduced a new law allowing foreign-flagged Superyachts to conduct Charters legally in their waters.
