Fact file: British Columbia

Boasting spectacular scenery and outstanding natural beauty, the Canadian state of British Columbia offers highly rewarding cruising grounds, including the Inside Passage’s breathtaking fjords, Gulf Islands and Desolation Sound.

BRITISH COLUMBIA’S SNOW-CAPPED MOUNTAINS, cascading waterfalls and snowmelt lakes provide a magnificent backdrop for adventure for visiting yacht guests and crew. Grizzly bears, deer, moose, caribou and elk roam in the forest, and orca, minke, and grey whales hunt in the fjords. Watersport opportunities abound, from game fishing to sea kayaking.

Superyacht facilities in British Columbia centre mainly around Vancouver. When cruising from Vancouver, Victoria Harbour is a great destination in British Columbia. However, keep in mind that when clearing customs in these places, it is necessary to provide written declarations for the amount of alcohol and cigarettes carried on board. Vancouver also has great yacht refit facilities, making it easy to plan a maintenance period. It is a crew-friendly port and flying crew in and out is easy.
