ECUADOR is a South American country, which also includes the Galápagos Islands in the Pacific, about 965 km west of the mainland. One of the world’s highest active volcanoes, Mount Chemborazo (6,210-m ABS) is located in Cotapaxi, just south of the capital Quito.
There is a wide variety of things to do in Ecuador, as there are four completely different regions, each having its own specialty and its own lifestyle. Amongst the variety on offer are Ecuadorian festivities, museums, adventure: Incan ruins, National Parks, bird-watching, whale-watching, water sports, nightlife and colourful native markets displaying the vibrant culture of Ecuador.
